Characteristics | |
va-Q-vip is an evacuated microporous thermal insulating panel with very low thermal conductivity, i.e. excellent insulating properties. The core of va-Q-vip comprises inorganic oxides, up to 80 % being fumed silica and the rest IR opacifiers and a small amount of organic fibres. The core itself is noncombustible, it is sealed into a high gas barrier film under vacuum. The high gas barrier film ensures that the va-Q-vip maintains the necessary vacuum level for many years. In general we produce rectangular panels. Due to the special folding technique (va-Q-seam), va-Q-vip has a smooth and rectangular edge. Therefore individual va-Q-vips can be tightly fitted together, making an almost gapless assembly possible. Other shapes are available on request. | ![]() |
Application | |
va-Q-vip was specially developed for insulation applications where not much space is available but a high thermal resistance is necessary. va-Q-vip is a successful insulation system in the following areas:
For the building application va-Q-vip B (official approval in Germany) can also be used. | ![]() |
