va-Q-pur

Characteristics

With the space available in products and construction being so valuable there is a pressing need for much better thermal insulation than mineral and glass fibres or styrofoam.
va-Q-pur core material is an open cell polyurethane foam. Due to the rigid PUR-core the light weight va-Q-pur is stiffer than other VIPs.

The PUR core is wrapped in a highly impermeable barrier film in the factory, evacuated in a chamber, and sealed.  The barrier film ensures that the va-Q-pur keeps the necessary vacuum level for a long time.

In general, rectangular panels are produced. Other shapes are available on request.

Applications

va-Q-pur is especially developed for applications in a cool environment, e.g. appliances like freezers and refrigerators or thermo packaging. va-Q-pur can be used together with conventional polyurethane foam systems. The heat during the foaming process does not influence the thermal or mechanical properties of the vacuum panels. The adhesion between the surface of the vacuum panel and the outer polyurethane foam is good. Please discuss your application with va-Q-tec AG.

Advantage

  • Flat and hard surface
  • Low weight
