German Energy Efficiency Award 2009

A vacuum insulated building, designed by architect Martin Pool, in central Munich´s Seitzstrasse has once again received a well known award: in Germanys largest competition for advanced buildings the Munic building was selected from among 580 other buildings competing for the award which was handed over by the German minister Wolfgang Tiefensee .

The 5 story combined office and apartment building is almost completely covered with high quality and high efficiency vacuum insulations panels from va-Q-tec. The buildings very low energy consumption and the reliable and safe technological installation system convinced the award committee. In addition to the Munich building, another building located in the southern German town of Regensburg which is also equipped with va-Q-tec VIPs was under the final nominations for the award.
