The potential applications of VIPs in technical and mobile systems are numerous. Due to their thin assembly and flexibility, as well as three dimensional shaping, the new generation of VIPs, va-Q-plus A, opens up a whole new realm of possibilities.
Many new implementations, which would not be possible with conentional VIPs, are enabled through the versatility of our VIPs. Because of their light-weight and thin construction combined with highly efficient insulating properties, our VIPs could be used in the automobile industry.
A good example of the application and suitability of VIPs in creative technology is the Zyphyr, an innovative unmanned aerial vehicle, created by the Britisch company QinetiQ, which set a new endurance record in July 2011 for unmanned flight. Our VIPs were selected to insulated the battery which was responsible for keeping the light-weight solar powered aircraft aloft throughout the night. The panels sucessfully protected the battery from the frigid high altitude conditions resulting in a flight which lasted over 336 hours.
